New autocad and sketchbook tutorial on polylines and vectors

Hello!

I have uploaded a new video talking about how to acquire polylines from Sketchbook Designer back into Autocad. If you are interested in how to integrate the two programs into your design, check it out and my other video about sketching in Sketchbook Designer and bringing that into Autocad.

Currently, you can't return from Sketchbook Designer back into Autocad with the vector lines. You would have to export the lines from Sketchbook Designer into a Curve DWG file, and copying it back into Autocad. The process is not difficult at all but it does take an extra step. One suggestion to Autodesk is to improve the program to allow vectors to become editable in Autocad from Sketchbook Designer.

But overall, I find this program easy to use and to further develop our sketching skills in our daily design process.

Architectural digital sketching

Hello,

How many times have you heard in architecture school that you should learn how to sketch? Yet all of the produced drawings and presentations are from digital medians. How would you apply for a job with just sketching skills and without the meshes from 3d models? However, you can't always express your initial ideas through a lengthy process of 3d modeling.

I suggest to incorporate sketching in digital design work in architecture school. We have Apple and Android tablets we can input ideas, and we have Wacom tablets with lots of computer sketching programs. Even our phones have advanced to the stage that we can sketch quick ideas in. Industrial designers have always taken advantages of these sketching equipments and implementing them. 3D modeling for games have started to use the tablets in programs such as Zbrush to sculpt character modeling. The concept artist for games and movies have used computer painting in photoshop to showcase their concepts. What has the architecture field done to advance our sketching presentations?

So why not use use the technology to reignite our sketching skills and passion, so that the younger generation can continue to sketch on napkin tissues to impress our clients.

Easy Terrain and topo lines from free Google Sketchup

Hello!!

I have uploaded a new video about acquiring topo lines from sketchup. Many times, a client would not have it in their budget to get a survey or a student might not have the topo for their site. Google is useful to get an understanding of the topo and the slope of the site.

How often do people examine the houses that they live in? What has changed when it comes to our houses? Most of us still lives in a craftsman or other historical styles. We still live in the same rectangular bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens, and bathrooms.

I am sure we can redefine our living environment and pay more attention to the way we live. We pay attention to our diet, finances, gardens, and multiple new products - updated every month - then we should give the attention to where we live.

Hello everyone,

This is the start of my personal blog about the world that interests me. I'm going to be posting all sorts of things from architecture to the programs I use in school and from daily life.

In addition, I have started a new Youtube Channel and have posted a basic introduction and review of Autodesk's Sketchbook Designer. I want to bridge the gap between computer programs and architecture. We need to control the design programs and integrate all of them into a working process so that we are not held down by them.
